Hair Treatment For Over-processed Hair
Double-processed blonde hair has been a trend for a long time, and it never really goes away, at least for me. Since 2008, I’ve been back with bleached hair, no relationship, mostly because it makes me feel bad.
Indianapolis Hair Salons Tips: Best Treatments For Damaged Hair
However, I agree that hair dye is a bad friend. You wanted it because it looked nice, but was it a waste of your time (at the salon) and income (so many products). Most people give up quickly, but I don’t. I keep coming back for more.
Through trial and error and literally millions (even billions) of dollars down the drain, I’ve learned to best care for products that actually work.
Then at the beginning of the year, after everything I’ve learned, I did a stupid thing: end all failure, if you will. On a whim, driven by a desire—no, a need—to feel better about myself, and the finances of a freelancer, I let a salon student color my hair. “What’s the worst that can happen?” I think (I think we all know how this ends.)
Yes They burned my hair. Not everything (silver lining?) but everything within two inches of my head was ruined. I have a chin length bob for the look. It sent me on a hair care journey like never before. Sign up, I tried it. I’ve traveled to the depths of hair hell, looked inside, literally burned it, and now I’m back from the brink of (hair) destruction and ready to tell the story.

You’re probably thinking, “Why should I listen to a girl who lets someone burn her hair?” And my response is like a snarky band member. I’ve seen things…I know things…let me share what I’ve learned.
Conditioner Hierarchy: When bleaching your hair, remember that conditioner is not only your best friend, but also your entire team. You will need at least two but ideally three different conditioners, as the recommended one is now your shampoo and the medicated mask is your conditioner. Does it make any sense? Let’s take it step by step.
You won’t see this tip anywhere else, but this is the one that will save you. Wash your hair with conditioner only, no shampoo, just conditioner. “But I’m working!” I hear you say that. And I appreciate your efforts. Every day, whether you sweat or not, wash your hair thoroughly with water, then condition. It will still smell good and look better. A cheap conditioner will do for this. Alba Botanica has good conditioners at a fair price, but almost anything will do. This is not a post-shampoo conditioner. It should be a mask. am i ok
The good news is that this step is quite simple. The bad news is, after years of experimenting, I have yet to find a mask under $20 that actually works. It’s the only product you need when you need to spread the dollars. Look for something that says “repair” in the description. I am currently working on the Sachajuan hair fix, or if you like natural, the Rahua rafts are also great.
How Damaged Is My Hair
There’s a whole market dedicated to hair and skin vitamins, but here’s my honest advice: don’t bother. It’s mostly bullshit, and there’s always a commenter saying they grow hair like a chimpanzee. Umm No thanks. But if you need to, prenatal vitamins are the way to go—they’re probably well-researched and designed to keep you healthy from the inside out.
This time it’s the purple or silver variety. There are several purple shampoos out there, but most are cheap and harsh. Add a purple conditioner to your regimen about once a week to reduce shine. The Shimmer Lights conditioner isn’t moisturizing enough, but it’s very purple, so mix a little into the mask and you’re good to go! If you’re feeling nice, Davines is always a great choice.
Dual treatment hair maintenance includes a balance of protein (strength) and moisture. But my advice is to leave the protein treatment to the professionals. Trying to create your own protein treatment is a fruitless exercise. It doesn’t sink in, or you add too much protein and the hair becomes brittle and breaks. Spring for a professional treatment when you color your hair and ask your stylist about Olaplex treatments for your hair.

You should never heat your hair without using a heat-activated treatment on wet hair. Bumble and Bumble make it cute. For me, other treatments or conditioners do nothing but smooth out flyaways.
You can leave white blonde hair looking quite greasy before anyone notices. But eventually, you’ll want to shampoo. Try to do it once a week and add more fat before you do it. Use coconut, argan, olive or any oil and leave the shampoo in your hair as long as possible before showering. I’d say use a mild or restorative shampoo, but to be honest most shampoos are similar so go for it, but ideally look for one that’s sulfate free or at least doesn’t “lighten”. pleasant way of drying
Artist Spotlight Tsuki couldn’t find a salon he really liked in New York, so he and his wife started their own. If you bleach, color, or chemically process your hair, you’re probably familiar with the rough, split ends that often come with it. I’ve been bleaching my hair with it since I was 17, that is
Removing years of regular color is hard on anyone, but especially my fine, thin hair. Since then, I’ve dealt with the damage using every method available, from haircuts to deep conditioning treatments.
How To Save And Take Care Of Over Processed Hair
But sometimes a girl wants long colored hair and conditioning treatments stress my fine hair. And even though Steven (who has styled my hair for most of those two decades) has been looking for milder bleaches and other, more natural dyes, my ends often end up looking a little frizzy.
K18 uses a proprietary peptide that restores the protein in each hair. In just one application of the mask, it prevents 82% of damage by penetrating the hair and restoring damaged keratin bonds. It does not coat the hair like a conditioner; fixes the hair
K18 Masque couldn’t be easier to use. Just wash your hair (I use Hairstory New Wash), skip the conditioner if you normally use it, and apply a dime-sized amount to towel-dried hair. Leave on for 4 minutes, then style your hair as usual. You don’t wash it off and it continues to work in your hair even after the next wash.
K18 before and after. It was three weeks that I applied K18 every time I washed my hair, which is every two to three days. I did not cut or dye my hair between these photos.

This post was edited on 02/05/2021 to reflect Khairpep’s move to K18. The product itself has not changed. I’ve been blonde for 12 years now, so I’m constantly working on perfecting my healthy hair routine, and these are my holy grail products for strengthening and moisturizing my hair. I have 3c hair texture, bleached and very dry. I experimented with air drying my hair for a few months, wondering if the lack of heat styling would make it healthier, but it made it very dry and brittle. My hairdresser told me on Sunday that I have a full head of hair and I think that was the biggest compliment ever! These are products for someone who regularly blow dries their hair every week (I wash and blow dry once a week).
This year I’ll be changing my color to try the new hair trend Lived-in-Blonde, which is a subtle look where shades similar to your natural color are woven into your hair to make your hair grow out but look polished. The finished look is multi-dimensional with multiple shades that blend beautifully. It’s a great way to get healthy without requiring a lot of maintenance
